Over 50 people attended the AMM and even more at the prize giving.
It was great to see most of the winners there to receive their trophies.
The AMM kicked off with the Secretary, Ross Davies, opening the meeting and he first covered off apologies for absence. There then followed a minute’s silence to remember those members who had sadly passed away during the year.
This was the first joint AMM following the creation of the joint committee in 2024.
Ross then introduced the joint committee to the meeting. The 2025 committee members can be found on the contacts section of the website.
Ross then invited Paul and Debby Webb to give a talk on their year as Captains.
We then had the official handover of the Captain’s role from Paul and Debby Webb to Richard Jones and Jane Ohlenschlager. Richard was presented with his Green Jacket and Jane with the Ladies Captain’s broach. It’s worth mentioning that this is Jane’s third time as Captain.
Richard and Jane in turn acknowledged the previous year’s captains, highlighting their contributions to the club and presenting to them a token of appreciation. Each Captain shared a brief outline of their vision for the upcoming year and introduced their vice captains namely Bill Walker and Sue Dale.
This was followed by a session from James Lillitou who gave us an update on operational issues, ongoing club improvements and new initiatives, including the paths which have yet to be treated with resin, new signage, new irrigation to the driving range area and the clearance to the left of the 13th fairway in order to push the boundary of the golf course back to the footpath. James then managed a brief Q&A.
The AMM was then followed by the prize giving. Photos will be populated very shortly and will be found on the picture’s tab on the second page of the website after clicking on All Club News on the front page.
