32 players turned up to do battle and our collective thanks go to Peter Lane for the organisation of this event
The first heavy downpour of the summer lasted 15 minutes.
Wth nowhere to go the rain puddled across many fairways and several players went hot foot to the club house not for an early bath but an early drink or two!
First out of the blocks was Ray Pateman and guess what he was the winner.
Well clear of second place I might add.
That was Roger Neill and he then went on to win the Senior Pairs +65 with Graham Harris the next day beating Alan Harding and Bill Walker, the later who then went on the next day and won the Senior Pairs +55 with Dave Garratt beating Paul Lawrence and Graham Cook.
The win was down to Dave Garratt with a stunning back nine including a tap in birdie on the 18th to win the match, having been 2 down at the turn.

Third place was John Mc Cormick and fourth was Dave Cross.
Front 9 winner was Nic Yellowlees, back 9 that man again Dave Garratt.
